Sephira

"...the sum of our experiences and talents together creates an entity that transcends what we can do as individuals."

Sephira began classes in Middle Eastern dance with Shifàh in the summer of 2001 following years of involvement in theatre and the color guards of her high school and college marching bands. She was immediately drawn to the passion of the music, the emotive nature of the dance, and the empowerment of femininity expressed through this art form.

Her subsequent classes with Rose and her first public performance at the Jewel of the Valley in the fall of 2002 firmly set the cornerstone for her love of belly dance. She is truly grateful for the caring, generous, and supportive group of women with whom she dances.

In her “day job”, Sephira works at an area consulting firm as an Environmental Scientist and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Environmental Toxicology and Risk Characterization at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
